The person
behind the words.

Dr. Dennis Ross of Wichita, Kansas, has devoted his life to medicine, entrepreneurship, music, and community service. A distinguished nephrologist with a medical career spanning more than four decades, Dr. Ross has combined his passion for patient care with an entrepreneurial spirit and a lifelong commitment to enriching the lives of others.

During his 43-year career in nephrology, Dr. Ross helped establish Renal Care Group, a successful dialysis company that ultimately became part of Fresenius Medical Care, one of the world's leading providers of kidney care. His professional accomplishments reflect a commitment to advancing medical treatment, improving patient outcomes, and developing innovative healthcare services.

Beyond clinical medicine, Dr. Ross has been actively involved in healthcare entrepreneurship and organizational leadership. He serves as Chairman of the Board of Axiom Healthcare, providing leadership and strategic guidance in the delivery of healthcare services. His continuing interests include clinical research, medical innovation, and the development of new approaches to patient care.

Music has been an equally important part of Dr. Ross's life. An enthusiastic saxophonist and pianist, he has maintained a lifelong appreciation for both instrumental and vocal music. His love of music extends beyond personal performance to his leadership in the performing arts. As Chief Executive Officer of the Wichita Grand Opera, he is dedicated to promoting opera, expanding its audience, supporting talented performers, and ensuring that the cultural richness of opera remains an important part of the Wichita community.

A man of deep Christian faith, Dr. Ross is an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Wichita, where he sings in the church choir. He has been a strong advocate for sacred music and has supported significant musical additions to the church, including a Beckerath pipe organ, a bell tower housing 25 bells crafted by the renowned Paccard Bell Foundry in France, and an outdoor amphitheater intended to bring people together through music, worship, and community celebrations.

Dr. Ross's philanthropic interests reflect his belief in the importance of faith, education, medicine, and the arts. Through his charitable activities, he has supported Christian ministries, musical organizations, and medical education, with affection for the University of Nebraska Medical Center and its medical school, his alma mater.

In addition to his medical and musical pursuits, Dr. Ross is an author. His novels, The Perfect Match and The Lethal Elixir, reflect his interest in storytelling and his ability to draw upon a lifetime of professional and personal experiences.

Despite his many professional and community commitments, Dr. Ross considers his family his greatest blessing. He and his wife, Ann, have four children‚ Amy, Mindy, Kristy, and Aaron ‚and a growing family of grandchildren. Family gatherings, shared celebrations, music, and travel remain among his greatest pleasures.

Whether caring for patients, guiding healthcare organizations, performing music, supporting the opera, singing in his church choir, or spending time with his family, Dr. Ross has sought to live a life characterized by faith, service, creativity, and gratitude.

His guiding philosophy is that a meaningful life is measured not simply by professional achievement, but by the opportunities one creates to enrich the lives of others.
